Sue, AKA Shadow  is a 37 year old, happily married, non traditionalist, non conformist: a workaholic that wishes she could be an optimist, yet plans for and expects the worst; has a government job that actually really does make a difference.  She's married to a computer systems engineer that is as dedicated to his career as she is to hers; so long hours and on call duty are the norm.  She is currently "owned" by 6 rescued feline companions ranging in age from 9 to 2 years old, and they get irate when she works too much.  She is a survivor that has handled a less than wonderful childhood, the death of a parent to cancer, bankruptcy, divorce and depression.  She is comfortable living in her own skin and proud of past accomplishments.  Sue says, "I  am here because she got brave and said , I love this place! to the webmaster. [*grin*]

"Stay a Moment?" won Honorable Mention in the 1994 Dickinson Awards, through the Amhurst Society.  Amhurst Society only does 4 serious awards awards a year, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mention.  Sue received Honorable Mention out of over 4000 entries, and states, "I even got a check!".  She also received "The Presidents Award" was from the National Authors Registry the same year. 

Sue's first "in print" poem was published by Quill Books, The Art of Living 1992 and  she thinks at one point or another in the time continuum she has belonged to the following: The International Society of Poets, The Poets Guild, The American Poetry Society, and the International Society of Authors and Artist.  She was a registered author for about 3 years.
