A father's love is a special thing 
With all the surprises and gifts that it brings 

From watching her first step in the hall 
To letting her go on dates to the mall 

To the prom night that you have dread 
To the place she gives birth on the hospital bed 

Watching them grow from your love 
Knowing you will someday fly like a dove 

But for now I will hold her in my arms
