.... A. Sailor

Each person needs an anchor, a pier where they can tie their souls; 
A mold for their behavior; and a script for all their roles. 
We all need to understand this; that we can't live life alone. 
Or we'll pay the price forever; for this sin we'll all atone. 

As children we need one to trust; at least one good foundation. 
Trust is vital for our self-esteem; it can be our salvation. 
Young and old we all need guidance, a director for our roles. 
We need an anchor for our hearts and a flagship for our souls. 

In my life there is an Angel and I've always known she's real. 
There's been no time in all my life when her touch I did not feel. 
I've received so many blessings, more than I can quite believe. 
I have so much love and happiness, much more than most receive. 

I never really got to know her, my sweet Angel from above. 
But I've long known of her presence and I've always felt her love. 
Just who is my special Angel? I'm not sure I want to say. 
She's as real as winter snowfall, or the dawn that starts each day. 

She doesn't always help me, only when my need is real. 
At times she lets me earn my scars and then she helps me heal. 
The days it seemed that I'd been left to struggle on my own. 
Taught me that there are lessons that one needs to learn alone. 

I've learned to look for silver linings, after life has brought me pain. 
Just as I always see a rainbow, after gently falling rain. 
I have learned to trust my feelings, and the guidance from above. 
I feel the warmth of her affection, the gentle touch of Mother's love.
