An anguished expression of stress, 
Or a passionate portrait of love. 
A stab in the dark (just a guess). 
Inspiration that comes from above. 

Your innocence lost as a child, 
Viewed dimly through curtains of time. 
Your first love so sweet and so wild, 
Tied neatly in ribbons of rhyme. 

An Angel who lives in your heart, 
And tells you which way you should go. 
Or a clever idea for a start, 
From the Devil who lives in your soul. 

Observations of beauty and light, 
Are poetry themes as a rule. 
Declarations of love at first sight. 
The meandering thoughts of a fool. 

What your innermost thoughts are about, 
Or your feelings frozen in time. 
A snapshot of life theres no doubt. 
Your emotions woven in rhyme.
